AND LET THEM MAKE ME A SANTUARY THAT I MAY DWELL AMONG THEM EXODUS 25:8
Burdened with a sincere zeal to spread the gospel, Elder Rupert Webster was ablazed with the idea of erecting an edifice to God's glory in the Whitehall Avenue Community. So it was then in 1983, this thought became a reality in Febraury of that year, a huge gospel crusade was launched on the grounds of 9-13 Victoria Close with permission of Mr. Stanley Tyson owner of the property. The Shortwood and Meadowvale Seventh-Day Adventist Churches sponsered this evangelist effort. After five weeks of intensive, soul-stirring Bible-backed messages from Elder Webster, he and his spirit-filled team praised God for the fifteen precious souls that were baptized by the incumbent minister, Pastor J.A. Barrett. This baptism saw one of the largest crowds ever to attend an Adventist meeting in the Whitehall Avenue Community. That night will forever remain inscribed in the canals of history as a memorable event, as the prayers of saints bore fruit. A second crusade was launched in May under the supervision of Pastor Devon Osbourne. For six weeks, Elder Valentine Graham preached to an eager and receptive community. Their enthusiasm and willingness was demonstrated when some twenty-five souls took their stand for Christ. It was out of this crusade that the Whitehall Tabernacle SDA was formed. In October 1986 we began an organized church. Hitherto hath the Lord lead us.
Twenty - Five Years and some months later the Whitehall Avenue SDA Church is now a striving source of strength, comfort, hope and spiritually upliftment in its community.
A church that lives and strives on the true meaning of being an Adventist; a church that is solely apart and forthright in the movement of God's plan of spreading the gospel to a dying world; a church that is not shattered our shaken by what the world thinks is important but feeds on what God thinks is important; a church filled with youths and youths at heart that have dedicated their lives and time to the sole purpose of winning souls for Christ.
Come celebrate with us every Sabbath as we experience Christ in dramatic and eye - opening ways; witness the blessings of God on our young people who have been gifted to serve him in drama; share in our smiles and experience a sweet heavenly love from our dear Pastor Linton G. Williams and our hearty handshakes and sweet soul-stirring music.
WE SIMPLY CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE YOU VISIT WITH US.
